2019 - Week 18 Predictions/Statistics Online

The predictions and statistics for this week, the Volvo China Open (European PGA Tour) and the Wells Fargo Championship (US PGA Tour), are now available on Golf Predictor. A strong field has signed up at Quail Hollow, with eight of the top twenty in the world teeing it up in North Carolina, led by world number two, Justin Rose. No big names are teeing it up in China this week and the tournament has yet another new course. Neither of these facts make it very easy to call, but local favourite Hao-Tong Li will be hoping for another home victory.

2019 - Week 17 Winner

Jorge Campillo (ranked 2nd by Golf Predictor) won the Trophee Hassan II on the European PGA Tour. The 32 year old Spaniard finally won his first tour title with a solid final day performance in Morocco. After many near misses in the recent past, Campillo won by two shots with a strong finish on Sunday after overnight leader Eric van Rooyen faltered on the back nine. Our top ranked player, Joost Luiten, finished in tied 25th and we had nine of the top fourteen plus ties (9/21) on the long testing layout.
 
The Zurich Classic of New Orleans on the US PGA Tour was not covered due to its transition to a team event. Unfortunately, this makes it unsuitable for Golf Predictor.

2019 - Week 17 Predictions/Statistics Online

The predictions and statistics for this week, the Trophee Hassan II (European PGA Tour), are now available on Golf Predictor. No big names are teeing it up in Morocco as the European Tour starts up again this week, so they have to make do with five golfers from the lower reaches of the top one hundred in the world.

The Zurich Classic of New Orleans (US PGA Tour) will not covered as it now a team event. Unfortunately, this makes it incompatible with Golf Predictor.

2019 - Week 16 Winners

Cheng-Tsung (C.T.) Pan (ranked 62nd by Golf Predictor) won the RBC Heritage on the US PGA Tour. The 27 year old Taiwanese golfer came from nowhere at windy Hilton Head to capture his first tour title. With overnight leader, world number one Dustin Johnson unexpectedly crumbling on the back none Sunday, Pan kept his nerve on the difficult closing holes to win by a single shot from Matt Kuchar. DJ was our top ranked player and he finished a lowly tied 28th in the end thanks to a closing 77. Overall, we had only six of the top sixteen plus ties (6/24) in an event where many of the bigger names floundered in the difficult conditions.

There was no event on the European Tour this week. 

2019 - Week 16 Predictions/Statistics Online

The predictions and statistics for this week, the RBC Heritage (US PGA Tour) are now available on Golf Predictor. After the excitement of The Masters, it's back to the grind this week! Despite the exertions of Augusta, there are quite a few big names teeing it up this week. Headlining the field is Dustin Johnson, newly back in the world number one spot. DJ is joined by big names such as Francesco Molinari, Matt Kuchar, Bryson DeChambeau Xander Schauffele and Jordan Spieth for the popular event in South Carolina.

There is no event on the European Tour this week. 

2019 - Week 15 Winner

Tiger Woods (ranked 16th by Golf Predictor) won the first major of the year, The Masters (European/US PGA Tour). The 43 year old American completed his fairytale return by finally adding to his total of fourteen majors, eleven years after winning his last one. After long time leader Francesco Molinari and others faltered on the back nine on Sunday, Woods turned on the style to edge clear of a stacked field and record a very popular fifth Masters victory. Our top ranked player, Rory McIlroy, seemed to suffer under the burden of completing the career grand slam and finished in tied 21st. Overall, we had eighteen of the top twenty one plus ties (18/28).

2019 - Week 15 Predictions/Statistics Online

The predictions and statistics for this week, The Masters (European/US PGA Tour), are now available on Golf Predictor. Only one tournament this week, but it's the big one! It's that time of the year again and excitement is mounting among golf fans ahead of the first major of the season at Augusta. It's wide open again this year with several top players showing good form ahead of the tournament. It promises to be an exciting week's golf and I, for one, will be glued to the TV!

2019 - Week 14 Winners

Corey Conners (ranked 72nd by Golf Predictor) won the Valero Texas Open on the US PGA Tour. The 27 year old Canadian won his first tour title with a topsy turvy final round in San Antonio. After a fast start, Conners reeled off four bogeys in a row, before getting back on the birdie train and finishing strongly. In total, Conners only had four pars in his final round, winning by two shots from Charley Hoffman. Our top ranked player, Rickie Fowler, faded on the weekend and finished in tied 17th. Overall, we had nine of the top twenty plus ties (9/22) in the final Masters warm up.

There was no event on the European Tour this week.

2019 - Week 14 Predictions/Statistics Online

The predictions and statistics for this week, the Valero Texas Open (US PGA Tour) are now available on Golf Predictor. Despite the move to the week before The Masters, the field isn't particularly strong this year. There are only three of the top twenty five in the world teeing it up in Texas as a final tune up before the first major of the year.

There is no event on the European Tour this week. 

2019 - Week 13 Winners

Kevin Kisner (ranked 1st by Golf Predictor) won the WGC - Dell Technologies Matchplay on the European/US PGA Tour. The 35 year old American secured his first WGC title with a 3&2 win over Matt Kuchar in the final. It was a sweet victory for Kisner after he lost in the final last year. He never trailed in the final and Kuchar didn't play his best golf. Francesco Molinari defeated Lucas Bjerregaard in the third place play-off. Like previous years in Austin, a surprising number of the bigger names exited after the round robin stage.

Stephen Gallacher (ranked 46th by Golf Predictor) won the Hero Indian Open on the European PGA Tour. The 44 year old Scot ended a five year drought by winning his fourth tour title on the tough layout in New Delhi. On a course where many floundered, including the third round leaders, Gallacher overcame a quadruple bogey on the seventh hole on Sunday to finish strongly and win by a shot. It was an especially sweet victory for the Scot, as he had his son on the bag. Our top ranked player, Jazz Janewattananond, missed the cut and we had eight of the top eighteen plus ties (8/22) in the weak fielded event.

Graeme McDowell (ranked 21st by Golf Predictor) won the Corales Puntacana Resort & Club Championship on the US PGA Tour. The 39 year old Northern Irishman won his fourth tour title with a grinding performance in the Dominican Republic. After putting in back to back 64s on Friday and Saturday, it was a more workman like performance on Sunday that saw McDowell edge the title by a single shot after he bogeyed the final hole. Luckily for him, his nearest competitor Chris Stroud did worse, bogeying his two last holes. Our top ranked player, Sungjae Im, faded slightly over the weekend, but still finished in tied 7th. In this new second string event, we had twelve of the top twenty two plus ties (12/25).
