2018 - Week 49 Winners

David Lipsky (ranked 41st by Golf Predictor) won the Alfred Dunhill Championship on the European PGA Tour. The 30 year old American can won his second tour title with a solid performance at Leopard Creek. After overtaking overnight leader Scott Jamieson, Lipsky opened up a gap on the field. However, he made it hard on himself by doubling the sixteenth to lead by just one with two to play. Luckily, he as able to compose himself and he birdied the last to win by two strokes in the end. Last week's winner, Louis Oosthuizen, was our top ranked golfer and he finished in tied 7th. In an event that is usually difficult to predict (and not made any easier by the new greens!), we had ten of the top eighteen plus ties (10/25) in total.

There was no event on the US PGA Tour this week.

2018 - Week 48 Winners

Louis Oosthuizen (ranked 1st by Golf Predictor) won the South African Open. The 36 year old South African finally won his home Open with a great start and finish in Johannesburg. After opening with a 62 (-9) to lead, Oosthuizen fell behind until the end of the third round. Despite leading by three overnight, Oosthuizen was almost caught early on Sunday. However, he was able to rally and cruised to an emotional win on home soil. Oosthuizen was our top ranked player and we had seven of the top eighteen plus ties (7/20) in total.

2018 - Week 48 Predictions/Statistics Online

The predictions and statistics for this week, the South African Open* (European PGA Tour) are now available on Golf Predictor. Local favourites Louis Oosthuizen and Branden Grace headline the field in South Africa, which only has seven of the top one hundred in the world rankings. This year the championship is being held on the same course as last year's Joburg Open, so there will be a little bit of competitive course history to go on this week.

There is no event on the US PGA Tour this week.

*The full name of this event is the South African Open Hosted by City of Johannesburg, which is a little too verbose for Golf Predictor!

2018 - Week 47 Winners

Kurt Kitayama (ranked 49th by Golf Predictor) won the AfrAsia Bank Mauritius Open at Anahita on the European PGA Tour. The 25 year old American won his maiden tour title with an assured display in Mauritius. In only his third event since qualifying to play on the tour, Kitayama held off the field to win by two strokes. His lead was cut to one on the sixteenth, but a great birdie on seventeen coupled with some poor play from his nearest challengers meant he carried a two shot lead up the last. A safe par on the closing hole sealed the win for the American. Our top ranked player, defending champion Dylan Frittelli, finished strongly for tied 5th and we had six of the top seventeen plus ties (6/19) in the weak fielded event.

Cameron Smith (ranked 2nd by Golf Predictor) won the Australian PGA Championship on the European PGA Tour. The 25 year old Australian successfully defended his title on the Gold Coast. Despite leading by three shots overnight, Smith was overtaken by Marc Leishman by the turn. However, Leishman faded on the back nine and Smith finished strongly to win by two shots in the end. Leishman was our top ranked golfer and despite the limited history in the system, we had eight of the top nineteen plus ties (12/31) in total.

There was no official event on the US PGA Tour this week. Golf Predictor doesn't cover the (very) restricted field junket that is the Hero Challenge!
