2020 - Week 27 Predictions/Statistics Online

The predictions and statistics for this week, the Rocket Mortgage Classic (US PGA Tour) are now available on Golf Predictor. The PGA Tour goes back to Detroit where alternate Nate Lashley won the inaugural event last year. There is a decent field lined up in the Great Lakes area for the event, although not as strong as those in the previous three weeks since coming back from the Coronavirus enforced break.

There is no event on the European Tour this week.

2020 - Week 26 Winners

Dustin Johnson (ranked 9th by Golf Predictor) won the Travelers Championship on the US PGA Tour. The 36 year old American overcame recent poor form to extend his one win a season streak to thirteen at TPC River Highlands. Trailing by two shots overnight, Johnson overtook overnight leader Brendon Todd and despite a few errant shots coming in, won by one from Kevin Streelman after a short weather delay late on. Our top ranked player, Rory McIlroy, finished in tied 11th and in an event where many of the big names failed to perform, we only had five of the top eleven (5/19) in total.

Unusually for a third week in a row, there are a large number of the top players teeing it up this week. Nine of the top ten in the world are teeing it up in Connecticut, with Adam Scott the only absentee from that elite bunch. The Covid-19 rust should well and truly be shaken off for the competitors after this week!

Webb Simpson (ranked 4th by Golf Predictor) won the RBC Heritage on the US PGA Tour. The 34 year old American won his his seven tour title with an impressive performance on the testing Harbour Town layout. On a week of low scoring, Simpson finished strongly to edge a crowded field by a shot with a record score of -22. Our top ranked player, Rory McIlroy, had another poor week and finished in tied 41st. 2020 - Week 24 Winners

Daniel Berger ranked 56th by Golf Predictor) won the Charles Schwab Challenge on the US PGA Tour. The 27 year old American put his injury woes behind him, recording his third tour title against a stacked field at the first event back after a three month suspension due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Berger posted -15 first and was only matched by Collin Morikawa from a bunched leaderboard. In the resultant play-off, Morikawa missed a three foot par putt to hand the title to Berger at the first extra hole. Our top ranked player, Rory McIlroy, had a disastrous final day and finished in tied 32nd. Overall, in a quality field where many of the world's best players didn't perform, we had only seven of the top fourteen plus ties (7/18)

There was no event on the European Tour this week.

The predictions and statistics for this week, the Charles Schwab Challenge (US PGA Tour), are now available on Golf Predictor. It's all excitement this week as the PGA Tour starts up again after a three month break due to the Coronavirus pandemic. Golf Predictor Donations - Coronavirus Update 2

As promised in my original Coronavirus post a few months ago, I have updated all Golf Predictor donor accounts in advance of the resumption of the PGA Tour next week. Donors whose donation period have expired since the suspension have had an equal amount of time added to their accounts as they had outstanding at the time. Donors whose donation periods were still active have had three months added to their accounts. This corresponds to the period from 8th March to 8th June, which marks the beginning and end of the suspension period.

I think I have got all donors, but if I have missed your account, then please contact me via the Contact GP page. I look forward to seeing some tournament golf again and I hope you will continue to find Golf Predictor useful!
