2019 - Week 26 Winners

Christiaan Bezuidenhout (ranked 29th by Golf Predictor) won the Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucia Masters on the European PGA Tour. The 25 year old South African won his first tour title with an impressive display at Valderrama. Leading by five strokes overnight, a closing round of even par was good enough for Bezuidenhout to extend his winning margin to six on the testing Valderrama layout. Our top ranked player, Jon Rahm, finished in tied second despite an over par final round. Overall, we had seven of the top fifteen plus ties (7/19).

Nate Lashley (not ranked by Golf Predictor as he was a late alternate) won the inaugural Rocket Mortgage Classic on the US PGA Tour. The 36 year old American also won his first tour title by six shots with a great display in Detroit. Lashley opened up with 63 (-9) ans easily went wire to wire to complete an amazing story. Having lost his parents and girlfriend in a plane crash, only getting his tour card a couple of years ago, missing out in Monday qualifying and getting in anyway, Lashley's win was as popular as it was unlikely. Our top ranked player,  Dustin Johnson, missed the cut, despite it being a turkey shoot in Detroit! Overall, we had seven of the top seventeen plus ties (7/20) in this new event where the lesser lights largely took the limelight.

The predictions and statistics for this week, the Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucia Masters* (European PGA Tour) and the Rocket Mortgage Classic (US PGA Tour) are now available on Golf Predictor. The PGA Tour goes to Detroit for the first time and there is a decent field lined up in the Great Lakes area for the event. Meanwhile on the European Tour, host Sergio Garcia and compatriot Jon Rahm are once again headlining the field on the challenging Valderrama layout.

*Full title is the Estrella Damm N.A. Andalucia Masters hosted by the Sergio Garcia Foundation.

2019 - Week 25 Winners

Andrea Pavan (ranked 30th by Golf Predictor) won the BMW International Open on the European PGA Tour. The 30 year old Italian won his second tour title with a birdie on the second extra hole. Pavan came from four shots back to edge out Matthew Fitzpatrick in a play-off, thanks to a fine approach from the rough to a few feet. Our top ranked player, Matt Wallace, finished in tied 3rd and we had nine of the top sixteen plus ties (9/19)

Chez Reavie (ranked 17th by Golf Predictor) won the Travelers Championship on the US PGA Tour. The 37 year old American ended an eleven year winless streak at TPC River Highlands. Leading by six shots overnight, only a total collapse would have prevented Reavie from finally landing that second win. Remarkably, Keegan Bradley got within one stroke, but a three shot swing on the penultimate hole with a Bradley double bogey and Reavie birdie meant the latter could relax up the last with a four shot lead. Our top ranked player, Brooks Koepka, finished in tied 57th and we had seven of the top twenty in total.

2019 - Week 25 Predictions/Statistics Online

The predictions and statistics for this week, the BMW International Open (European PGA Tour) and the Travelers Championship (US PGA Tour), are now available on Golf Predictor. After the excitement of the US Open, it's back to the grind! Unusually for a week after a major, there are a large number of the top players teeing it up this week. Nine of the top twenty in the world are teeing it up in Connecticut and a couple or top thirty players are making the trip from California to Germany to compete.

2019 - Week 24 Winner

Gary Woodland (ranked 15th by Golf Predictor) won the US Open on the European/US PGA Tour. The 35 year old American won his first major, taming a tricked up Pebble Beach with four rounds in the sixties. That allowed Woodland to win by three shots from double defending champion Brooks Koepka. Interestingly, Koepka also shot four rounds in the sixties and became the first man to do so and not win the event. Our top ranked player, Dustin Johnson, ever really featured at the top end of the leaderboard and finished in tied 35th. Overall, we had seventeen of the top twenty one plus ties (17/27) in an event where most of the big names played well.

2017- Week 23 Winner

Rory McIlroy (ranked 3rd by Golf Predictor) won the RBC Canadian Open on the US PGA Tour. The 30 year old Northern Irish man won his sixteenth tour title with a dominating final day performance in Canada. McIlroy gave himself a perfect tune up for the US Open next week, closing with a fine 61 that could have been even better, as it included two bogeys in his last three holes. Our top ranked player, Dustin Johnson, finished in tied 20th and we had twelve of the top twenty plus ties (12/26).

2019 - Week 22 Winners

Guido Migliozzi (ranked 20th by Golf Predictor) won inaugural Belgian Knockout on the European PGA Tour. The 22 year old Italian won his second tour title of the year with an impressive performance in the hybrid event in Belgium. Having qualified comfortably in tied eleventh after the opening two rounds of stroke play, Migliozzi saw off several players in the matchplay, including last week's winner  Bernd Wiesberger, before defeating Darius van Driel by four strokes in the final. Our top ranked player, host Thomas Pieters, missed the cut and overall, we had ten of the top seventeen plus ties (10/32) in the weak fielded, hybrid event.

Patrick Cantlay (ranked 7th by Golf Predictor) won the Memorial Tournament pres. by Nationwide on the US PGA Tour. The 27 year old American won his second title with a strong finish on Sunday at Muirfield Village. Trailing by four shots overnight, Cantlay stormed home with a fine 64 to win by two shots in front of host Jack Nicklaus. Our top ranked player, Rory McIlroy, was one of several big names to surprisingly miss the cut and we had ten of the top seventeen plus ties (10/21) in total.
