2019 - Week 48 Predictions/Statistics Online

The predictions and statistics for this week, the Alfred Dunhill Championship (European PGA Tour) are now available on Golf Predictor. It's the first week of the 2020 European Tour, even though it's still 2019 and of course, the event is not in Europe! With the postponement/cancellation of the UBS Hong Kong Open due to security concerns, just the one event this week. Like previous years, there is a strong home presence in South Africa, where the field is pretty weak this time around. There is only three of the top one hundred in the world teeing it up, with Eddie Pepperell the highest ranked golfer in the field.

There is no event on the US PGA Tour this week.

2019 - Week 47 Winners

John Rahm (ranked 3rd by Golf Predictor) won the DP World Tour Championship, Dubai on the European PGA Tour. The 25 year old Spaniard emulated his great hero Seve Ballesteros by becoming European number one with another victory at the season ending event in Dubai. Rahm started hot with five birdies in his first seven holes to take a commanding six shot lead. However he slowed down on the back nine and when Tommy Fleetwood finished in a similar fashion to his start, the Spaniard needed to birdie the last to pip the Englishman to both the title and Race to Dubai. Our top ranked player, Rory McIlroy, didn't play well over the weekend, but still finished fourth and we had sixteen of the top twenty plus ties (16/27)  in this limited field event.

Tyler Duncan (ranked 78th by Golf Predictor) won The RSM Classic on the US PGA Tour. The 30 year old American won his first PGA Tour title with an an impressive finish in Georgia. Duncan birdied three of the final four holes to tie Webb Simpson after 72 holes. After halving the first extra hole in par, Duncan took the title with a textbook birdie on the next. Simpson was our top ranked player, and in an event that's usually hard to predict, we had only five of the top fourteen plus ties (5/19) overall. 

2019 - Week 47 Predictions/Statistics Online

The predictions/statistics for this week, the DP World Tour Championship, Dubai (European PGA Tour) and The RSM Classic (US PGA Tour), are now available on Golf Predictor. It's the last event of the season (but not the year!) on the European PGA Tour and the last event of the year (but not the season!) on the US Tour! Rory McIlroy leads a strong, albeit small field for the season finale. While eight of the top twenty in the world are teeing it up in Dubai, the field is more modest in Georgia. Webb Simpson headlines the field and it will be the last chance before January for the lesser lights to put some FedEx Cup points on the board.

2019 - Week 46 Winners

Tommy Fleetwood (ranked 9th by Golf Predictor) won the Nedbank Golf Challenge on the European PGA Tour. The 28 year old Englishman came from behind with a scintillating final round to win at Sun City. Despite trailing overnight by six shots, Fleetwood came through the field with a closing 65 (-7) on the tough Sun City layout to tie Marcus Kinhult after 72 holes. Fleetwood's round included an incredible three eagles in six hole stretch from the ninth. He then took the title with a par on the first extra hole after the young Dane had to chip out to the fairway with his second shot. Fleetwood was our top ranked golfer and we had nine of the top seventeen plus ties (9/19) in total. 

Brendon Todd (ranked 76th by Golf Predictor) won the Mayakoba Golf Classic on the US PGA Tour. The 34 year old American came back on Monday to close out the win in Mexico. That made it two wins in a row for Todd, in his continuing resurgence after a fallow period. Our top ranked golfer, Tony Finau, once again failed to impress in a weaker field and missed the cut. Overall, in an event plagued by weather delays, we had only four of the top eighteen plus ties (4/19).

2019 - Week 46 Predictions/Statistics Online

The predictions and statistics for this week, the Nedbank Golf Challenge (European PGA Tour) and the Mayakoba Golf Classic (US PGA Tour), are now available on Golf Predictor. Not much by way of top talent this week, with only one member of the world's top twenty in either event. Tommy Fleetwood is once again teeing it up in South Africa, while Tony Finau is the highest ranked in Mexico, where he is headlining the field with defending champion Matt Kuchar.

2019 - Week 45 Winners

Tyrrell Hatton (ranked 7th by Golf Predictor) won the Turkish Airlines Open on the European PGA Tour. The 28 year old Englishman won his fourth tour title in a mammoth play-off in Turkey. On a week of low scoring, Hatton was one of six players to finish on -20 after seventy two holes. Despite looking dead and buried on the first extra hole, Hatton chipped in for a birdie to stay alive. He then outlasted long time leader Matthias Schwab under the floodlights to finally win on the fourth extra hole. Our top ranked golfer, Justin Rose, failed to make it a hat-trick of titles and finished in tied 21st. Overall, we had nine of the top seventeen plus ties (9/20).

2019 - Week 45 Predictions/Statistics Online

The predictions and statistics for this week, the Turkish Airlines Open (European PGA Tour), are now available on Golf Predictor. The European Tour heads back to Turkey for the first of the final three events of the Rolex Series. Although the field isn't quite as strong as previous years, there are still four members of the top twenty in the world rankings playing, led by double defending champion Justin Rose who will be hoping for a hat-trick of titles there.

There is no event on the US PGA Tour this week.

2019 - Week 44 Winners

Rory McIlroy (ranked 1st by Golf Predictor) won the WGC - HSBC Champions on the European/US PGA Tour. The 30 year old Northern Irishman won his third WGC title in a play-off in Shanghai with defending champion Xander Schauffele. Despite going bogey free over the weekend, third round leader McIlroy was caught by Schauffele with a birdie on the final hole. The world number two then played the par five eighteenth in exemplary fashion in the play-off, with his tap in birdie good enough after Schauffele had to lay up and missed his birdie try. McIlroy was our top ranked player and including the winner, we had eight of the top seventeen (8/19*) in total.

Brendon Todd (ranked 55th by Golf Predictor) won the inaugural Bermuda Championship on the US PGA Tour. The 34 year old American overcame a major career slump to win his second tour title in Bermuda. Trailing Harry Higgs by two shots overnight, Todd came out with all guns blazing, hitting seven birdies in a row on the front nine to leave the field in his wake. A sub-60 round was on when he started the back nine with two further birdies, but he slowed down coming down the stretch. In the end, Todd finished with a bogey on the final hole for a 62 (-9) and a four shot victory over Higgs. Our top ranked player, Alex Noren, finished in tied 15th and we had ten of the top eighteen plus ties (10/23) in total in this second tier event.
