2010 - Week 40 Winners

John Parry (ranked 17th* by Golf Predictor) won the Vivendi Cup, his maiden victory on the European PGA Tour. The Englishman put his poor finish last week in Austria firmly behind him in taking the title by two shots. Our top ranked player, Padraig Harrington, put in a confidence boosting weekend, vaulting up 68 places after a poor opening two days which saw him barely making the cut. The Irish man closed with a fine 64 (-8) to finish in tied 8th place. Overall, we had six of the top fifteen plus ties (6/18)*.

On the US Tour, Jim Furyk (ranked 3rd by Golf Predictor) won the final event of the FedEx Cup play-offs, the Tour Championship pres. by Coca Cola. Given Matt Kuchar's poor showing, that meant the likeable American also walked away with the $10 million FedEx Cup. He probably won the FedEx Cup due to being well rested after the first play-off event!! Our top ranked player, Steve Stricker, finished well down the field in tied 25th, but we had ten of the top fifteen plus ties (10/16).

* Two higher ranked players (Peter Hanson and Jamie Donaldson) were late withdrawals, so they are excluded from the comparison.
