Rory McIlroy (ranked 1st by Golf Predictor) won the Honda Classic on the US PGA Tour. The 22 year old Holywood native became the first ever Irish world number one by holding off a hard charging Tiger Woods to win his third US PGA Tour title. Despite Woods showing some familiar form of old with an almost perfect finishing round of 62 (-8), McIlroy showed admirable resolve to prevail by two shots. That was thanks in large part to some excellent scrambling, particularly on the back nine on Sunday. Including the winner, we had seven or eight of the top twelve plus ties (7 or 8/15*) .
