Martin Laird (ranked 40th by Golf Predictor) won the Valero Texas Open on
the US PGA Tour. The 30 year old Scot overcame recent indifferent form to secure his first
US PGA Tour title in two years. Laird finished in style, closing with a course record equalling 63 (-9) to win by two. The victory came with the added bonus of qualification for The Masters this week. Our top ranked player, Rory McIlroy, showed a welcome timely return to form by finishing in second and we had seven of the top fifteen plus ties (7/21) in total.
