Francesco Molinari (ranked 8th by Golf Predictor) won the Italian Open on the European PGA Tour. The 33 year old Italian emulated last week's winner Joost Luiten by winning his home open for the second time. Molinari finished with a 65 to hold off Masters champion Danny Willett. It was nervy stuff as Willett reduced the Italian's lead from four with six to play to a single shot. However, Molinari managed to par the final hole and win by a single shot. Willett was our
top ranked player and we had thirteen of the top twenty plus ties in total (13/29*).
