2018 - Week 25 Winners

Matt Wallace (ranked 14th by Golf Predictor) won the BMW International Open on the European PGA Tour. The 28 year old Englishman won his second title of the season with a fast finish in Germany. Wallace closed with a 65 (-7) to overtake the six overnight joint leaders and win by a single shot. One of the trio in tied second was Thorbjorn Olesen, who finished with a brilliant 61 (-11) to almost win the tournament from nowhere. Our top ranked player, Tommy Fleetwood, was lucky to make the cut after flying over from the US Open and having his father on the bag! He finished in tied 59th and we had eleven of the top eighteen plus ties (11/25) in an event plagued by high winds for the first two days

Bubba Watson (ranked 3rd by Golf Predictor) won the Travelers Championship on the US PGA Tour. The 39 year old American won his third title of the season and his third title at TPC River Highlands with a strong finish. Despite being tied 77th after round one and six shots behind Paul Casey after round three, Watson finished strongly with a 63 (-7) to overtake the stuttering Casey, who threw away an overnight four shot lead. A poor finish by the Englishman and the other contenders meant they fell away and Watson won by three shots in the end. Our top ranked player, last week's winner at the US Open, Brooks Koepka, finished in tied 19th and we had eleven of the top nineteen plus ties (11/25) in total.
