2018 - Week 4 Winners

Hao-Tong Li (ranked 24th by Golf Predictor) won the Omega Dubai Desert Classic on the European PGA Tour. The 22 year old Chinese golfer won his second tour title with an impressive finish in Dubai. Trailing Rory McIlroy by two shots after ten holes on Sunday, Li managed to overtake the fancied Northern Irish man and stay ahead of him with four birdies in his last six holes under pressure. That allowed Li to to edge it by a single shot with a tournament record 23 under par. Our top ranked player, Henrik Stenson finished in tied 6th and we had nine of the top nineteen (9/21) in total.

Jason Day (ranked 7th by Golf Predictor) won the Farmers Insurance Open on the US PGA Tour. While most eyes for the week were on the returning Tiger Woods, the 30 year old Australian won his eleventh tour title in a three man play-off at Torrey Pines. After Ryan Palmer was knocked out at the first extra hole, Day saw off Alex Noren on the sixth extra hole on Monday. The shamefully slow play on the final day, most notoriously by J.B. Holmes on the last, and the long play-off meant an early Monday finish to the tournament. Only one early morning hole was needed, as Day secured the title with a winning birdie. Our top ranked player, defending champion Jon Rahm, had an uncharacteristically bad day Sunday, falling to tied 29th with a closing 77. Overall, we had eight of the top twelve plus ties (8/19) in total.
