2011 - Week 29 Winners

Luke Donald (ranked 2nd by Golf Predictor) won The Barclays Scottish Open on the European PGA Tour. The world number one won the rain shortened event with an impressive final third round 63 (-9). It was a shame that torrential rain of biblical proportions ruined the first staging of the event at the Castle Stuart course. Our top ranked player, Lee Westwood, finished in tied fourteenth place and in an event decimated by Mother Nature, we had eight of the top fourteen plus ties (8/24).

Steve Stricker (ranked 1st by Golf Predictor) won the John Deere Classic for the third straight year on the US PGA Tour. Despite leading by five at the turn, the 43 year old American had to pull out an amazing birdie-birdie finish to pip rookie Kyle Stanley by a single shot. It's a good job we predicted  the winner, because most of the other bigger names failed to produce the goods. Overall, we had  four of the top twelve plus ties (4/17). On the plus side, it's the nearest we've come to having predicted both winners in the same week!
