The predictions for this week, the Wells Fargo Championship (US PGA Tour) and The Championship at Laguna National (European PGA Tour), are now available on Golf Predictor. There are a few big names turning up at Quail Hollow this year, where Rory McIlroy will be hoping to get straight back into the top ten in the world rankings. As usual, the
field is not as strong on the European PGA Tour, where this week's tournament has been renamed and relocated. The event formerly known as the Ballantine's
Championship and held in Korea has moved to Singapore this year.

2014 - Week 17 Winners
Alexander Levy (ranked 58th by Golf Predictor) won the Volvo China Open on the European PGA Tour. The 23 year old Frenchman overcame a topsy turvy back nine to claim his maiden title by four shots. Levy had a double bogey on fifteen, but steadied the ship with two closing birdies to secure the title. Our top ranked player, Henrik Stenson, finished in tied 5th, but we had eleven of the top nineteen plus ties (11/23).
Seung-Yul Noh (ranked 22nd by Golf Predictor) won the Zurich Classic of New Orleans on the US PGA Tour. The 22 year old South Korean won his maiden tour title thanks to an assured display in windy conditions on Sunday. Although the leaderboard wasn't exactly full of household names, that won't bother Noh, who now qualifies for the Players Championship, the US PGA Championship and the Masters, among other things. Our top ranked player, Justin Rose, finished in tied 8th and we only had eight of the top twenty one plus ties (8/24)* in total.
*Due to a non-finish, Holmes makes the top twenty four in our rankings.

2014 - Week 17 Predictions/Statistics Online
The predictions and statistics for this week, the Volvo China Open (European PGA Tour) and the Zurich Classic of New Orleans
(US PGA Tour), are now available on Golf Predictor.
Not many big names teeing it up this week either, as the wind down
after the Masters continues. At least there is at least one major champion
in both fields for the locals to cheer on! There are a few bigger names than usual in China, where Henrik Stenson, Jason Dufner and Ian Poulter are teeing it up this year.
2014 - Week 16 Winners
Lee Westwood (ranked 1st by Golf Predictor) won the Maybank Malaysian Open on the European PGA Tour. The Englishman gave himself an early 41st birthday present by winning his first title in two years. Despite flying half way across the world after the Masters and having to deal with hot and humid conditions, Westwood won easily, birdieing the last for a seven shot victory margin. Overall, including the winner, we had nine of the top eighteen plus ties (9/23)* .
Matt Kuchar (ranked 1st by Golf Predictor) won the RBC Heritage on the US PGA Tour. The 35 year old American won his his seventh tour title with a holed bunker shot on the last for birdie to pip Luke Donald by a single shot. Overall, including the winner, we had five of the top twelve plus ties (5/17) in an event where a lot of the bigger names did not perform very well.
*Due to a withdrawal, Hend makes the top 23 in the GP rankings.

2014 - Week 16 Predictions/Statistics Online
The predictions and statistics for this week, the Maybank Malaysian Open (European
PGA Tour) and the RBC Heritage (US PGA Tour) are now available on Golf Predictor.
After the excitement of The Masters, it's back to the grind for the
ordinary pros this week! While most of the big names are resting after
the exertions of Augusta, there are several of the world's top ten
playing in South Carolina.
Meanwhile in steamy Malaysia, Lee Westwood is headlining the field and is one of the few Masters competitors teeing it up in Kuala Lumpur. I wonder what made him fly half way around the world directly after his good showing in Augusta?!

2014 - Week 15 Winner
Bubba Watson (ranked 9th by Golf Predictor) won the first major of the year, The Masters (European/US PGA Tour).
The 35 year old American won his second green jacket in three years in a final day duel with Augusta rookie Jordan Spieth. While it was somewhat exciting on the front nine, Watson pulled away on the back nine to beat the young Texan and Sweden's Jonas Blixt by three shots. Our top ranked player, Adam Scott, finished tied 14th in his first major title defence. Overall, we had eight of the top fourteen plus ties (8/20).

2014 - Week 15 Predictions/Statistics Online
The predictions and statistics for this week, The Masters (European/US
PGA Tour), are now available on Golf Predictor. Only one tournament this
week, but it's the big one! It's that time of the year again and
excitement is mounting among golf fans ahead of the first major of the
season at Augusta. Tiger Woods is the most notable injury absentee, but Jason Day and Phil Mickelson are also coming back from recent injury concerns. With other big names Rory McIlroy, Adam Scott and Matt Kuchar all throwing away winning positions in tournaments recently, it makes this year's tournament more open than usual. It promises to be an
exciting week's golf and I, for one, will be glued to the TV! Hopefully a Northern Irish golfer can continue the streak of winning majors when Tiger is not competing!

2014 - Week 14 Winners
Marco Crespi (ranked 48th by Golf Predictor) won the NH Collection Open on the European PGA Tour.
The 35 year old won his first ever tour title with an assured final day performance. Despite needing eleven attempts to come through Qualifying School, Crespi only needed twenty five starts to record his first win. That's an impressive reward for his perseverance! Our top ranked player, Bernd Wiesberger, finished in tied 99th, but we had five of the top nineteen* in the weather affected event.
Matt Jones (ranked 51st by Golf Predictor) won the Shell Houston Open on the US PGA Tour. The 33 year old Australian also secured a maiden victory, this time after seven years on tour. Jones did it in some style, firing two amazing birdies on the difficult final hole, the first in regulation and the second a chip in on the first extra hole against Matt Kuchar. The American will be kicking himself after hitting a poor approach into the water on the same hole in regulation. Our top ranked player, Henrik Stenson, finished in tied 54th, and we had seven of the top nineteen plus ties (7/23).
* With withdrawals, Aquilar is promoted into the top nineteen in the GP rankings.
