Marco Crespi (ranked 48th by Golf Predictor) won the NH Collection Open on the European PGA Tour.
The 35 year old won his first ever tour title with an assured final day performance. Despite needing eleven attempts to come through Qualifying School, Crespi only needed twenty five starts to record his first win. That's an impressive reward for his perseverance! Our top ranked player, Bernd Wiesberger, finished in tied 99th, but we had five of the top nineteen* in the weather affected event.
Matt Jones (ranked 51st by Golf Predictor) won the Shell Houston Open on the US PGA Tour. The 33 year old Australian also secured a maiden victory, this time after seven years on tour. Jones did it in some style, firing two amazing birdies on the difficult final hole, the first in regulation and the second a chip in on the first extra hole against Matt Kuchar. The American will be kicking himself after hitting a poor approach into the water on the same hole in regulation. Our top ranked player, Henrik Stenson, finished in tied 54th, and we had seven of the top nineteen plus ties (7/23).
