2009 - Week 41 Predictions Available

The predictions for week 41, the BMW Championship (US PGA Tour) and the Mercedes-Benz Championship (European PGA Tour), are now available. It's the week of the upmarket German marque as a famous car maker sponsors the event on either tour! The FedEx Cup play-offs are down to the top seventy for the BMW Championship, the third event of the series. There is also a restricted field of seventy eight in the European event, so it represents an excellent chance for Bernhard Langer to get one over on the young guns!

The list of pre-2004 champions playing in the Mercedes-Benz Championship (Golf Predictor uses the results from the previous 5 years) includes Bernhard Langer (1989, 1991, 1997 & 2001), Michael Campbell (2000), Colin Montgomerie (1998), Darren Clarke (1996), Barry Lane (1992) and Jose Maria Olazabal (1988). The BMW Championship has only been in its current guise as a FedEx Cup play-off event since 2007, but pre-2004 winners of the Western Open in the field include Tiger Woods (2003, 1999 & 1997), Jerry Kelly (2002), Robert Allenby (2000) and Steve Stricker (1996).
