Richie Ramsay (ranked 21st by Golf Predictor) finished strongly to secure his maiden win on the European PGA Tour in the South African Open Championship. The former US Amateur Champion closed with the best score of the day (65) to to get into play-off in with India's Shiv Kapur (67). The Scot prevailed with a birdie on first extra hole to take the title and the top prize of €158,500. I guess we can call him Richie Rich now!
Our top ranked player, Charl Schwartzel, never recovered from an opening 77 to finish in tied 26th place, but we had six of the top fifteen plus ties (6/17) .
