2010 - Week 5 Winners

Bill Haas (ranked 46th by Golf Predictor) birdied at 18th to secure his maiden US PGA Tour win at the 141st attempt at the Bob Hope Classic. Haas joins his father & uncle in US PGA Tour's winner's circle. Indeed, the young American emulated his proud watching dad by winning this event. In a tournament where most of the bigger names didn't perform, our top ranked player, Mike Weir, finished in sixth place and we had six of the top fifteen plus ties (6/17).

On the European PGA Tour,
Martin Kaymer (ranked 7th by Golf Predictor) continued his fine run in the Abu Dhabi Golf Championship by winning for the second time in three years. The German shook off his recent injury woes and finished with a closing 66 (-6) to win by a shot. Indeed, Kaymer had to birdie the last to fend off the valiant Ian Poulter. Irish Open champion, Shane Lowry, had his best result since that fantastic day, finishing in fourth place, just behind Rory McIlroy. Our top ranked player, Lee Westwood, admitted to being rusty and missed the cut in his first event of the season. However, we had ten of the top thirteen plus ties (10/18) in total.
