Ben Crane (ranked 18th by Golf Predictor) secured his first US PGA Tour win in almost five years at the Farmers Insurance Open. Crane parred the last to win by a shot from a trio of pursuers. Our top ranked player, Phil Mickelson, finished poorly in his first event of the season and ended up in nineteenth place. Overall, we had eleven of the top twenty plus ties (11/21).
On the European PGA Tour, Robert Karlsson (ranked 20th by Golf Predictor) put last year's eye problems firmly behind him by winning the Commercialbank Qatar Masters pres. by Dolphin Energy. In a tournament that was beset with high winds, the Swede finished impressively with a 65 (-7) for his first European PGA Tour title since late 2008. Our top ranked player, Henrik Stenson, had a poor week, finishing in tied 64th, but we had seven of the top fourteen plus ties (7/19) in total.
