Justin Rose (ranked 35th by Golf Predictor) won his first title on the US PGA Tour at The Memorial Tournament presented by Morgan Stanley. The English man came from four shots down to win Jack's tournament by three shots after a flawless closing 66 (-6). Defending champion Tiger Woods' Z game was good enough for tied nineteenth! Our top ranked player, Phil Mickelson, finished in a tie for fifth place we had ten of the top nineteen plus ties (10/22).
In Europe, Graeme McDowell (ranked 4th by Golf Predictor) stormed to a brilliant victory at the Celtic Manor Wales Open. The Northern Irish man gave his Ryder Cup selection chances a serious boost with a three shot victory at the venue for the autumn showdown. McDowell emulated his compatriot McIlroy by overcoming an indifferent opening two rounds with a fantastic weekend finish (64-63) to take the title. Local favourite and emerging talent Rhys Davies also finished superbly with a course record 62 (-9) for his second runner up finish in a row. Our top ranked player, Luke Donald, finished in third for his third successive top three finish in Europe. Overall, we had six of the top twelve plus ties (6/17).
