2010 - Week 26 Winners

Graeme McDowell (ranked 9th by Golf Predictor) won his first major with an impressively consistent display in the US Open. The Northern Irish man was the only man not to be bested by the tough Pebble Beach layout, finishing on level par for a one shot victory. Almost everyone fell away on the final day, especially overnight leader Dustin Johnson who had an embarrassing meltdown in the final round. However, McDowell kept his nerve admirably to become the first Northern Irish major winner since Fred Daly (British Open) in 1947. Our top ranked player, Phil Mickelson, finished in tied fourth and we had six of the top fourteen plus ties (6/15).

On the European PGA Tour, Martin Wiegele (ranked 38th by Golf Predictor) won the Saint Omer Open pres by Neuflize OBC by two shots. Just two weeks after winning on The Challenge Tour, Wiegele becomes only the second Austrian to win on the main tour. Our top ranked player, Raphael Jacquelin, finished in tied second and we had about seven or eight of the top seventeen plus ties (7-8/21) in total*.

*For some reason, the field seems to have changed considerably since Monday and many of the higher finishers weren't in the available field then. This unusual occurrence makes performance analysis difficult.
