2012 - Week 7 Winners

Jbe Kruger (ranked 12th by Golf Predictor) won the Avantha Masters on the European PGA Tour. The 25 year old South African won his maiden tour title by two shots, despite a jittery finish. There was more controversy though as an armchair referee put another player out of an event. Scotland's Peter Whiteford was only one shot back when he was informed of his disqualification on the fourth tee after an eagle eyed TV viewer had seen his ball move on the fairway the previous day and had nothing better to do than report it!  Our top ranked player, Joost Luiten, finished in tied 17th and we had eight of the top seventeen plus ties (8/21) in total.

Bill Haas (ranked 10th by Golf Predictor) won the Northern Trust Open on the US PGA Tour. The 29 year old American won in an exciting finish at Riviera. Phil Mickelson and Keegan Bradley both birdied the difficult final hole to force a three man play-off, but Haas prevailed at the second extra hole. Our top ranked player, Luke Donald, finished poorly on Sunday with a 78 and ended up in tied 56th. Overall, we had eleven of the top seventeen plus ties (11/23).
