2018 - Week 39 Winners

Lucas Bjerregaard (ranked 35th by Golf Predictor) won the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship on the European PGA Tour. The 27 year old won his second tour title in windy Scotland by a single shot from Tyrrell Hatton and Tommy Fleetwood. After a rare shotgun start on Sunday to avoid strong winds, the big hitting Dane overtook double defending champion Hatton, who faltered unexpectedly on his closing nine, to win at the home of golf. Our top ranked player, Brooks Koepka, despite the horror of hitting that fan at the Ryder Cup last week, finished in tied 7th. Overall, we only had six of the top twenty plus ties (6/23) in the tough conditions.

Kevin Tway (ranked 23rd by Golf Predictor) won the Safeway Open on the US PGA Tour. The 30 year old American won his maiden tour title in California, joining his father Bob as a PGA Tour winner! In the difficult conditions on Sunday, Tway finished strongly with two closing birdies in regulation and three birdies in the play-off to take the title. Despite leading by five shots after eleven holes on Sunday, Brandt Snedeker's game deserted him, opening the door for the field. That allowed Tway and Ryan Moore to catch the faltering leader, who was the first man eliminated from the play-off. Our top ranked player, Patrick Cantlay, finished in tied 17th and we had nine of the top seventeen plus ties (9/24).
