2018 - Week 41 Winners

Host Sergio Garcia (ranked 1st by Golf Predictor) won the Andalucia Valderrama Masters hosted by the Sergio Garcia Foundation on the European PGA Tour. The 38 year old Spaniard successfully defended his title (again!) with another impressive display at Valderrama. Garcia didn't let the frequent weather delays unnerve him and he won comfortably on Monday after the tournament was cut to fifty four holes. Garcia was our top ranked player and we had only seven of the top sixteen plus ties (7/21) in the weather plagued event.

Brooks Koepka (ranked 2nd by Golf Predictor) won The CJ Cup @ Nine Bridges on the US PGA Tour. The 28 year old American continued his great year by winning a regular tour title to go with his two majors in 2018. Although Koepka won by four shots in the end, he was pushed all the way by Gary Woodland, who finished strongly with a 63 (-9) for second place. However, a chip in on sixteen by Koepka, a bogey on seventeen by Woodland and a closing eagle by the champion restored his overnight advantage. That win was good enough to make Koepka the latest golfer to take over the world number one position. Our top ranked player, Justin Thomas, finished in tied 36th and we had twelve of the top eighteen plus ties (12/22) in the restricted field event.
