Daniel Vancsik (ranked 83rd by Golf Predictor) claimed his second European PGA title at the BMW Italian Open in some style. The Argentine hit the joint lowest round of the day (65) to win the title by 6 shots from three players, including a resurgent John Daly. The Molinari brothers put up spirited displays in front of their home fans, with both finishing in the top twenty. Francesco also finished impressively with a 65 to finish in tied 6th, some eleven places ahead of older brother Edoardo. Our top pick Alvaro Quiros (Garcia) finished in a tie for 34th place and we had three of the top eight plus ties (3/13).
On the US PGA Tour, Henrik Stenson (ranked 8th) took advantage of the dramatic early collapse of third round leader Alex Cejka to win the prestigious Players Championship. Stenson won in some style, with his fine 66 the only bogey free round on the treacherous greens. Our top pick Tiger Woods finished in 8th place after another "band aid" round. While a lot of the bigger names didn't perform, we had seven of the top fourteen plus ties (7/21).
