2016 - Week 22 Winners

Matthew Fitzpatrick (ranked 11th by Golf Predictor) won the Nordea Masters on the European PGA Tour. The 21 year old Englishman eased to his second tour title with an impressive performance in Sweden. Fitzpatrick grabbed control of the tournament after the second round and  brought a five shot lead into the final day. He was never really in danger during the last round and he cruised to a three shot victory. Our top ranked player, Henrik Stenson, finished well for tied fourth and we had seven of the top eighteen plus ties (7/19)

William McGirt (ranked 40th by Golf Predictor) won the Memorial Tournament pres. by Nationwide Insurance on the US PGA Tour. The 36 year old American journeyman finally won his maiden tour title at the 166th time of asking in a play-off against Jon Curran at Muirfield Village. After both had finished on -15, two further visits to the tough eighteenth hole were needed to separate them. McGirt made an impressive up and down under severe pressure on both occasions, the second of which was enough to seal his breakthrough win. Despite a promising opening round and recent form, our top ranked player, Jason Day, failed to improve on his so-so record at Jack's tournament and finished in tied 27th. Overall, we had seven of the top eleven plus ties (7/19) in this event also.
