In an exhilarating day of team golf, Europe managed to close the gap to two points after day 2 of the 2008 Ryder Cup in Kentucky. Much beleaguered European captain, Nick Faldo, has reason to feel vindicated after much derided selections such as Oliver Wilson, Graeme McDowell and Ian Poulter all came good for team Europe. Wildcard Poulter played brilliantly it has to be said, as did the plucky McDowell, while Padraig Harrington's meagre return in recent Ryder Cup matches continues.
In an exciting day's play where both side's players repeatedly peppered the flagsticks and putted brilliantly, Robert Karlsson had to come home in 29 strokes just to secure a half in the afternoon fourballs! With a day of singles remaining, it promises to be a great feast of golf.
