Our favourite non-Irish golfer(!), Robert Karlsson (ranked 4th by Golf Predictor) continued his fantastic finish to a great season by securing his second win in the last three tournaments at the Dunhill Links Championship in Scotland. Finishing with a faultless 65, Karlsson's play off victory in mostly testing conditions catapulted him into the lead in the European Order of Merit race. Previous leader, Padraig Harrington, threaded water in the final round and slipped down the leaderboard. Our top pick, Henrik Stenson, had a disastrous third day to miss the cut and bring his recent fine run to an end. However, we also had Lee Westwood and Paul Casey in the top ten.
Meanwhile, over on the US Tour, big hitting rookie Dustin Johnson (ranked 92nd by Golf Predictor) secured his maiden victory in the Turning Stone Resort Championship. Taking advantage of being the longer hitter all week, Johnson ate up the soggy course. He wisely captured the lead only in the last few holes to minimise any nerves he might have had! Johnson beat our top pick, Robert Allenby, into second place and we also had Woody Austin and Ryuji Imada in the top 10.
