We have published the predictions for week 50, the Ginn sur Mer Classic (USPGA Tour) and the Volvo Masters (European PGA Tour). The good news for us here at Golf Predictor is that this is the last week of the European PGA Tour season. The bad news for us is that the next European season starts next week, so we can't put our feet up quite yet! Those cats in the European PGA sure don't like to waste time!
While Robert Karlsson is in prime position to win the European Order of Merit, Padraig Harrington, Lee Westwood and even Miguel Angel Jimenez can overtake him if they take the Volvo Masters title. Interestingly, all three have won the title before at Valderrama (see below), so Karlsson can't afford to relax.
Previous winners of the season ending Volvo Masters before 2003 (Golf Predictor includes results from the previous 5 years) competing this week include Padraig Harrington (2001), Miguel Angel Jimenez (1999), Darren Clarke (1998), Lee Westwood (1997) and Colin Montgomerie (1993). The Ginn sur Mer Classic is only in its second year.
