Alvaro Quiros Garcia* (ranked 45th by Golf Predictor) eased to the Portugal Masters title after his nearest competitors made mistakes coming down the stretch. This included Robert Karlsson (ranked 1) who had to settle for lowly joint 3rd (!) in his quest for three straight wins on the European Tour. Most of the big names failed to perform, but we also had Ross Fisher and the ever reliable Soren Hanson in the top ten.
On the US Tour, the Justin Timberlake Shriners Hospitals for Children Open was won by rookie Marc Turnesa (ranked 96th by Golf Predictor). Turnesa kept up a fine family tradition of PGA golf success with an impressive wire to wire victory. Our top pick, Mike Weir, finished in a tie for 10th and we also had Chad Campbell and Zach Johnson in the top 10.
