2013 - Week 25 Winners

Ernie Els (ranked 2nd by Golf Predictor) won the BMW International Open on the European PGA Tour. The 43 year old South African won his 28th tour title and his first since last year's Open Championship with a one shot victory over Thomas Bjorn. That should give him a nice fillip ahead of his title defence in Muirfield in a few weeks. Our top ranked player, Sergio Garcia, finished in tied 7th and we had thirteen of the top eighteen plus ties (13/21) in total.

Ken Duke (ranked 52nd by Golf Predictor) won the Travelers Championship on the US PGA Tour. The 44 year old American journeyman finally secured his first tour title on the second hole of a play-off with Chris Stroud. The latter had chipped in at the last to force the play-off, but after a fine approach at the second extra hole to a few feet, Duke was not to be denied his maiden PGA Tour victory. Our top ranked player, Justin Rose, finished in tied 13th, which was a valiant effort considered the week the newly crowned US Open champion must have had! Overall, we had seven of the top eighteen plus ties (7/23) in total.
