Paul Casey (ranked 43rd by Golf Predictor) won the Irish Open on the European PGA Tour. The 35 year old Englishman finally put his injury woes behind him by winning his twelfth tour title at Carton House. Casey played superbly on the final day, carding a 67 (-5) in very testing wet and windy conditions. Indeed, he secured the title in style, closing with an eagle on the par five finishing hole. Our top ranked player, Rory McIlroy, kept his recent poor form going by missing the cut in front of his home fans. Overall, we had only five of the top eighteen plus ties (5/21) in a event plagued by poor weather.
Bill Haas (ranked 12th by Golf Predictor) won the AT&T National on the US PGA Tour. The 31 year old American won his fifth tour title with an assured final day performance on the tough Congressional layout. Our top ranked player, Adam Scott, finished in tied 57th and in an event where a lot of the bigger names failed to perform, we had only three of the top sixteen plus ties (3/21) in total.
